Armstrong Building 402 Lower Level
Project Overview
Project Details
The Demolition and Alterations for the Lower Level of Armstrong Building 402 project involved the revitalization of 43,211 square feet of ground floor commercial office space, product showcase areas, and a customer training center within Building 402 on the Armstrong World Industries campus in Lancaster, PA. The extensive scope of work within this space included the installation of new VAVs, remodeling and expansion of a steel structure-mounted maintenance catwalk, HVAC system cleaning and balancing, refurbishment of toilet rooms, incorporation of Focus and Huddle rooms, rejuvenation of break areas with upgraded appliances and self-serve coffee machines, office fit-outs, installation of curtain walls, replacement of concrete walls with glass windows, integration of specialty ceiling and wall panels, and refreshing of paint, floor, and ceiling finishes throughout.
Noteworthy aspects of the project include its environmentally conscious approach, which involved recycling all demolished carpet, ceiling tile, glass, and metal, as well as incorporating specialty ceiling and wall installations. The furnishings were sustainably sourced, with a high percentage of recycled materials. Throughout the Lower-Level offices, the ceilings and wall systems serve as defining features, showcasing some of Armstrong Ceilings' distinguished products and product partners. These specialty systems include floor-to-ceiling wall-mounted Turf Flat Felt sound absorbing wall panels, Soundsoak acoustic wall panels, Reindeer Moss wall art, as well as ceiling elements such as the Woodworks Grille ceiling system, Moz Partitions, Turf Fractal Clouds, backlit Arktura Vapor Cora, and the Dynamax Ceiling Suspension system. Additionally, an Ohmcomm soundscaping system provides calming background noises, contributing to both the aesthetic appeal and healthy atmosphere of the renovated office environment.
